How to Log Into Onyx
By Ethan Warmuskerken · 4 min read
Step-by-step guide to accessing the Onyx trading platform with your PropEd Capital account, including first-login setup and common login issues.
Step 1: Open Onyx from the dashboard
Log into Nexus at nexus.propedcapital.com and click the Open Onyx button at the top of the dashboard. Your account activates automatically after purchase - there is no agreement to sign before the account is ready. Your Onyx credentials are shown right there, each with a copy button so you can copy them in one click.
Step 2: Log in and sign the CME data agreements
Paste your credentials into the Onyx login screen. The first time you log in, you will be prompted to sign the CME real-time data agreements. This is a one-time step required by the exchange for live market data. Once signed, you are ready to trade.
Desktop and mobile apps
Onyx also has desktop and mobile apps. Download links for both are shown at the top of the Nexus dashboard, and your same credentials work across web, desktop, and mobile.
After a reset or a new account
If you reset an account or add a new one while you are already logged into Onyx, fully log out of Onyx and log back in before trading that account. This ensures the platform picks up the fresh account state.
Common login issues
If you cannot access Onyx, check that the account status in Nexus shows active rather than pending or breached, confirm you copied the credentials exactly as shown in the dashboard, and make sure the CME data agreements were completed on first login. If everything looks correct, contact support through the Support page and include your account ID.
Key takeaways
- Onyx runs in the browser, with desktop and mobile apps available for download at the top of the Nexus dashboard.
- Your account activates automatically - no agreement needs to be signed before activation.
- On your first Onyx login you sign the CME real-time data agreements, then you are ready to trade.
- After resetting or adding an account, fully log out of Onyx and back in before trading it.
